Everything have to come to an end. Movies. Music. The school year. I can go on and on and on. When everything comes to an end, we call it what it is – images (102)THE END. But when a book comes to an end, it is called resolution untitled (118).

The resolution is how the book ends. How the problem is resolved. And how the story wraps up. (Hopefully, it ends on a satisfying note.) images (101)

According to Ask.com, “The resolve usually comes at the end of the story. The resolution will usually occurs after the climax of the story. The resolution is where the overall conflict of the story has been resolved.” untitled (117)

Think of fairytales, the resolution is “They live happily ever after.” This is satisfying to the reader. Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, and others all marry Prince Charming and live happily ever after. untitled (119)

Also, “happily ever after” is the last line in fairy tales. What are some of the last lines in your favorite book? How does your favorite books ends. When you write your story, think about what is your satisfying ending.images (102)
