Spreading Love in the Writing Community: The Liebster Award

I'm an inspiration!!

I’m an inspiration!!

The Liebster award has been making its rounds. It is awarded to blogs with fewer than 200 followers who have inspired others in some way and could use more love from readers like you.  I am honored to be nominated by Romelle Broas Guittap.

Here are the 10 questions from Romelle Broas Guittap :

1. If you weren’t a writer (or other current occupation), what would you be? Psychologist

2. What types of books do you like to read? Picture Books and mystery books
3. Who is your favorite author? Mildred Taylor and Dr. Seuss
4. What is your favorite color and why? Royal Blue.  It reminds me of the ocean and being from a small island, constant reminder of the water always relaxes me.
5. What is your favorite inspirational quote? “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything” – Alexander Hamilton via Malcolm X
6. What is the best tip on writing you’ve ever received? “Don’t write to make you happy; write to make someone else happy”
7. What is your favorite blog post you’ve written? After the ordeal in New Jersey on 11/2 when Governor Christie yelled at a teacher, I was hurt and offended. So I wrote a blog post about “Why Governor Christie Should Read Picture Books”. I like that post because the message was for him to get “THE GIVING TREE” by Shel Silverstein. It teaches humility.
8. What is your writing goal for this month? To generate 30 picture book ideas of which I will complete at least 10 drafts.  And I am studying writing in rhyme.
9. If you could have a super-power, what would it be? The power of foresight. I would like to see bad things before it happens then spend my time fixing it so it would never happen.
10. Apple or PC? PC
